Alcohol and water are the most commonly used solvents for odors, the greater the percentage of fragrance ingredients, the less alcohol or water there is in the smell.

A fragrance is made up of three 'notes': top notes, middle notes and base notes.
Top notes: these are the smells that we smell first in the fragrance, these smells disappear soon after application.
Heart notes: after the disappearance of the top notes, you will smell the heart notes which are often flower scents.
Base notes: the base notes come through last (+/- 90 minutes after application) and remain for a long time, the most basic are wood species.
