Remove couperose

You can recognize rosacea by dilated, enlarged veins on your face. They are usually located on the cheeks and nose. This condition is common and completely harmless. However, many people are bothered by it because they find it unsightly, or because rosacea can sometimes cause discomfort. This can happen, for example, when moving from a cold to a warm environment. You experience a strange sensation of warmth, which manifests itself in, among other things, a red face and unpleasant tingling. Rosacea is usually hereditary and therefore difficult to prevent. Sunlight (sun damage) and/or smoking can aggravate the condition. Using a good sunscreen can reduce the development of rosacea.

How do we tackle couperose?

We treat couperose with pulsed light of 540 nanometers.

How many treatments are needed?
Typically, significant improvement is noticeable after two treatments. In some cases , three to five treatments are necessary, depending on the severity of the rosacea. The interval between treatments should be at least three weeks or longer . The prices listed are per treatment.

Is the couperose gone permanently?
The treated veins won't return, but the genetic predisposition remains. Over time, new veins can therefore reappear. To reduce the appearance of rosacea, use a cream with a good sunscreen factor (30 or higher).

How does the skin respond to the treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, your skin may be red and irritated. We recommend using Care's after-sun lotion. The treated skin may also swell or develop scabs in some cases. These will disappear after a few days. The treated veins usually darken. Initially, it may seem like the rosacea is worsening, but don't worry: this is a good sign. It indicates that the veins are damaged and will disappear quickly. If you want to camouflage the rosacea in the meantime, wearing makeup is perfectly fine.

What precautions do you take yourself?
Avoid excessive facial blood flow. We advise you to avoid the following activities from three days before the treatment until seven days afterward:

  1. to play sports
  2. going to the sauna
  3. bend down with the head down
  4. drinking alcohol
  5. to make heavy efforts
  6. use peels or scrub creams
  7. Cover your face thoroughly. You should do this from four weeks before the first treatment until four weeks after the last treatment. If you must go out in the sun, use a sunscreen with SPF 50.
