Remove pigment spots
Pigment spots are often hereditary, but it's quite possible they won't appear until later in life. For this reason, there's little you can do to prevent them. One thing you can keep in mind: the sun generally doesn't have a positive effect on them. The pigment spots will either increase in size or become darker in color.
How do we tackle pigment spots?
We treat pigment spots with pulsed light at 540 or 570 nanometers. The heat breaks down the pigment.
How many treatments are needed?
Three treatments are usually sufficient, but it's quite possible to see significant improvement after just one. In some cases, multiple sessions are necessary. This depends on factors such as the size and number of pigment spots. The interval between treatments should be three weeks or longer . The prices listed are per treatment.
How does the skin respond to the treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, your skin may be red and irritated. We recommend using Care aftersun. The treated skin may also sometimes swell or develop scabs. These will disappear after a few days. In most cases, the treated pigment spots will darken. Initially, the pigment may appear to worsen, but don't worry: this is a good sign. It indicates that the pigment is damaged and will disappear quickly. If you want to camouflage the pigment spot somewhat in the meantime, you can use makeup.
What precautions do you take yourself?
Avoid further exposure to the sun or tanning beds. UV rays can disrupt your pigmentation. Carefully cover the areas being treated. This should be done from four weeks before the first treatment until four weeks after the last. If you must go out in the sun, use a sunscreen with SPF 50.
